Bubblegum Slut
Well this Essex fivesome have certainly come a long way since the last time I saw them. 'Simple Pleaures, Drastic Measures' shows a more accomplished band, one who have now very much come into their own indentity - I mean, honestly, can you name one other outfit who would discuss the ins and outs of fencing off park lawns in an absolutely poker-faced classic rock vocal? ('No Ball Games'). 4ft Pimp still pay due nods to their influences - a few Deep Purple esque guitars on the gloriously harmonised 'Great Aunt Anaconda', a bit of Faith No More paranoid, jumpy riffing amongst the scitzophrenic silly voices and ridiculous keyboard noise of 'Shotgun Paradise' - but overall you are looking at a band that has come well into it's own.
