Rock Idols
Lying somewhere between a rock musical and a band, 4ft pimp give listeners the feeling of hard rock in the context of little shop of horrors. At some points I was almost waiting for their lead singer to announce that he was a mean green mother from outer space. 4ft Pimp's lyrics tell stories, which when backed up by the music of this rock opera, allow total emergence in the songs. If you're a fan of big guitars, four, four beats and meatloaf style vocals then 4ft pimp will not disappoint. This is simply an assault of riffs in a fun loving, heart pounding way.
An almost acapella opening to 'Great aunt Anaconda' boasts the great vocal abilities of Greg Kiss. Sitting on top of hard, raw guitars the keyboards create a dark atmosphere blending perfectly with the power of Greg's voice. My favourite track on this EP has to be 'Shotgun Paradise'. The role-play of the song is complimented perfectly by everything from the choir like backing vocals to the ferociously paced drumming. If this song fails to get your blood rushing then this is not a genre for you.
Overall I would say that the title of this EP is a very accurate description of it. The whole sound is based on simple pleasures such as raging guitars and raging hormones but is spiced up in a measure only mixed by this unique group of boys from Essex.
